Early Admission Students with 24 hours of EARNED college credit receive academic advising services from a Mennonite College of Nursing advisor in September and March of the student’s sophomore year. The September early registration session will include spring/summer course scheduling, and the March early registration session will include fall course scheduling. Those Early Admission Students with less than 24 hours of EARNED college credit are advised by their current academic advisor in University College.
Prior to every early registration period, Prelicensure B.S.N. students are expected to attend designated group advising sessions with their assigned Mennonite College of Nursing academic advisor. Fall class schedules will be reviewed in February group advising sessions. Spring or summer schedules will be reviewed in group advising sessions held in September. Students will receive an e-mail via their Illinois State e-mail account with the times and dates of these group advising sessions. Students following a non-traditional plan of study will be informed of the need to schedule an individual advising appointment during early registration periods.
Registration blocks may be placed on students who fail to attend required advising sessions. Students are expected to bring a copy of their Progress Toward Degree summary to the group advising session. The Progress Toward Degree can be found on iCampus Portal under the “Academics” tab.
During early registration periods students will only be allowed to register for the theory portion of their clinical courses. "Clinical" registration will take place in early November (for spring clinicals) and June (for fall clinicals).
The prompt payment of parking fines and library fines before early registration as well as remaining current with clinical health requirements will prevent the hassle of getting blocked from registration.
