Edwards Hall

Edwards Hall was named after Richard Edwards, the second President of our University from 1862-1876. He was originally hired as a math instructor in 1861. The building that is Edwards Hall was opened in 1920, but the building was renovated in the early 1960’s and renamed in memory of Edwards.

Admission Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing Program

Interested applicants should possess the following qualities:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from an NLN-accredited program or from a program accredited by the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE);
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate course work; to include courses in which the student is currently enrolled;
  • One official transcripts of all prior collegiate work from each college attended to be turned in to the Graduate Admissions Office;
  • Evidence of satisfactory completion of statistics, nursing research, and physical assessment courses with a grade of a C or better at the baccalaureate level; and
  • Satisfactory completion of a graduate level statistics course (300 level or above)*

* Note: If not completed prior to entry into the program, provisional admission may be granted with the requirement that the graduate level statistics course be taken either before or concurrent with the graduate nursing research course.

In addition to the MSN requirements, applicants must have:

  • A master's degree in nursing from an NLN-accredited program or from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(CCNE);
  • A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for the graduate course work.

Two years of recent full-time relevant clinical or administrative nursing experience is preferred, but not required.
